Terry Moore

Executive Consultant

Known, in-house, by his friends as "Big Ter"

With a specialized career spanning 30 years, Terry Moore, Executive Consultant to Office Move Pro (Calgary), clearly knows and understands the moving industry. Terry started AMJ Campbell Van Lines in Western Canada in 1978, assuming for 25 years the role of company Partner, President and CEO of AMJ Campbell Calgary.

In 2003, Terry founded King’s Transfer Van Lines, acting as President and CEO until he sold his interest in the company in 2008. During that time, Terry brought the company to the distinction of holding a number three position in Canada.

During his tenure as President and CEO of Transfer Van Lines, Terry also founded Premiere Executive Suites (Calgary). With Terry at the helm and acting as chairman of Premiere, the company grew from a modest original “inventory” of two fully-furnished condos for rent to an extended operation of 200 available condos by 2008 when Terry sold his interest in the business to a franchiser. Terry Moore attributes much of his success in the moving industry to a working philosophy that includes his own personal growth as the business he is managing and directing grows within the marketplace.

Terry has always been dedicated to building a worker-friendly culture in which every employee is essential to the entire team effort. In his own working relationship with employees, Terry has achieved respect by giving strong support and respect in return to each of his staff members. Being highly success-oriented himself, it has over the years been Terry’s goal to encourage his employees to work to the best of their ability, thereby progressing toward the attainment of their own goals and aspirations. Terry’s hiring practice, therefore, places a strong emphasis on an applicant’s personal enthusiasm, with a corresponding willingness to learn and grow.

In his role as president and CEO of the companies Terry has spearheaded, he has been passionate about maintaining a business philosophy that rests on what he considers as three pillars of success, a philosophy that compels him to bring together his business with sports and community involvement. In sports, he stresses the importance of providing Olympic ambassadors to help integrate with clients and to support the company, while reaching into the community involves supporting charitable and community organizations. In business, an unqualified dedication to excellence is paramount. In addition to overseeing and directing the affairs of his company, Terry still enjoys spending time with his wife, Lynne, and his four children: Shannon, Erin, Kelsey, and Craig, while at the same time maintaining a heavy schedule of community involvement. His current directorships include Legacy Sports (ownership of Calgary Stampeders), the American Chamber of Commerce, Calgary Flames Ambassador, and the Mountain Winds Condominium Corporation.

Past community activities and past directorships include the Better Business Bureau (1989-1999); Atlas Van Lines (1997-2003); and the Athletics Department of the University of Calgary (1995-2003). In 1999 Terry also had the distinction of being named a finalist in the Prairie Region’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

In the time that is left in a highly-structured life, Terry still manages to devote himself to running and skiing, having recently completed the half-marathon in Vancouver and 10-kilometer races in Kelowna and Calgary.
